It’s not my first blog.
There have been others and there will be more in the future. The difference for this one over all the others is that it is for my photography. Mostly about the people I photograph - everything from the technical details and challenges to the emotions, big and small, that I capture.
This will be a place for me to explain and celebrate. To show you the joy of the wedding. To celebrate the fun of the mitzvah. To pull back the curtain a bit of what it’s like to be an event and portrait photographer.
And maybe a few detours into a few non-work images that I want to share with you, because I think you’d enjoy them.
Please stop back often to see the latest posts and let me know your thoughts in the comments.
Welcome to my blog.
Last month I had the honor of photographing Z& D’s wedding. While anytime someone entrusts their memories with me, it is a high honor which I take very seriously. This one however, was in addition, very personal. I have known the groom’s parents for decades and by extension, the groom! The location was Vassar. A […]
We photographers have many, many weather apps/links on our phones. Since we can’t control it, we need to be able to deal with it. Sometimes we can reschedule. Sometimes we can’t. Summer is when I get a bit of downtime. If you have ever wondered what photographers do during their downtime, I’m happy to share! 1. Clean my office. I’m not talking about running a vacuum over the carpet (that’s needed tho!). It is more of me tidying up, sorting paperwork, and looking over gear and […]
Something extra extraordinary happened the night of 5/10-511. The Northern Lights were seen as far south as Alabama. We earthlings experienced a category 5 Geomagnetic storm. The Kp index was 9, and the Bz was a negative 46. We survived due to the Van Allen belts. All this was a fancy way of saying the […]
As a photographer, I absolutely love springtime. It’s my second favorite season. Fall is the first due to the trees putting on a show that blankets mountains. The world wakes up with vibrant colors, delicate blossoms, and a palpable sense of joy. Why do I love spring? Let me count the ways: 1. The Light: Spring’s […]
What photographers do during their less busy times? Well, we have our own photo projects! I have inherited boxes, big and small, of family photos and slides. Most of it unlabeled or labeled with just enough info to further confuse the living relatives. It is a daunting task even for me. How to start? Realize […]
